The story in brief

Launched on 4 November, the dashboard brings together consumer tests from TRAI’s MySpeed and MyCall apps and its independent drive tests. Users can explore maps, zoom into locations and filter broadband results by provider, technology and connection type.1 The maps show observations and speed percentiles from participating users. TRAI cautions that these are not a comprehensive, standardised assessment of network quality. Results describe recorded experiences rather than a guaranteed speed for every subscriber in that area.1 The DND web interface also lets consumers set commercial-communication preferences, submit unsolicited-communication complaints and track their status.1

Context: Use the portal link in TRAI’s release to compare local observations, keeping the limits of user-generated tests in mind.

Who this matters for: Mobile and broadband users
