NMMSS scholarship: applications extended to November 15
NMMSS applications for 2026–27 now close on November 15. Eligible students have more time, but school and district verification remain separate steps.
The story in brief
The Education Ministry’s October 31 notice gives institute verification until November 30 and district verification until December 15. Students must complete One-Time Registration on the National Scholarship Portal before applying.1 The scheme pays ₹12,000 annually to eligible students in government, aided and local-body schools. Fresh Class IX scholarships require the state or UT selection test; Classes X–XII renewals depend on prescribed academic requirements.1
Parental income must not exceed ₹3.50 lakh a year. For the selection test, Class VII marks must be at least 55%, with five percentage points’ relaxation for SC/ST students; these conditions do not replace selection.1
