The story in brief

Consumers will have an additional route through their provider’s app for complaints and appeals. Complaint Centres must offer support all day, every day, with human assistance for at least 16 hours daily; automated systems can form part of the service.1 The appeal-filing limit and decision deadline are separate: the Appellate Authority must communicate its final decision within 15 days of receiving an appeal. This is not a statement that every initial complaint has the same deadline.1

For Internet Service Providers, applicability is based on having over 10,000 subscribers at the previous financial year’s end. The alternative annual-turnover test of more than ₹5 crore has been removed.1

Who this matters for: Telecom and internet customers
