The story in brief

The Health Ministry says the centre has a linear accelerator, a CT simulator for treatment planning and internal radiation equipment. Chemotherapy and surgical services support its integrated cancer-care framework.1 Union Health Ministry: According to the ministry, eligible Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY beneficiaries can receive cancer treatment without charge; other patients will be treated at subsidised rates. Eligibility remains relevant: this is not a promise of free treatment for every visitor.1

The centre is intended to serve Rajkot and the wider Saurashtra region. The projected initial workload is 500–700 cases annually, rather than a count of patients already treated.1

Who this matters for: Cancer patients and families in Saurashtra
