The story in brief

Launched on 3 November, the Inflation Expectations Survey of Households covers 19 cities, including Kolkata. It asks about current inflation and expectations three months and one year ahead, reflecting the goods and services each household buys.1 RBI has appointed Mumbai-based Hansa Research Group to approach selected households. People the agency does not contact may also participate by completing the official survey form and emailing it to the address in RBI’s notice.1 Context: These opinions provide inputs for monetary policy; the announcement reports no new inflation reading or interest-rate decision.

The official notice links the questionnaire and lists RBI contacts for queries.1
